Did you ever think of accompanying your friend to his or her year-end banquet? What would happen there and what would people do to celebrate it together? In case all above these events happened, what would you do? In Taiwan, most of the vendors at night markets are Taiwanese. However, could you image that there is a night market which filled with Cantonese vendors?

        I visited my friend at Taipei during last winter vacation. In reality, I visited him last summer before, so I didn’t want to bother him again. However, due to his enthusiastic invitation, which was about going to the year-end banquet with him. I took a trip to his town on another occasion.

The year-end banquet was held at Jan. 25^th. Before that day, we paid a visit to Shi-Lin night market. At the moment we stepped into the market, there are various sounds all around. For instance, vendors were recruiting businesses and customers were ordering their meals. Furthermore, almost all of the vendors there perform a Cantonese accent. I was confused about that, and even thought that they might have learned the language for convenience of business. Nevertheless, what I guessed was wrong. They are Cantonese in practice. With strong and traditional Cantonese tones, they welcomed customers effusively. How bustling the atmosphere was!

        As the date held the year-end banquet, we went to a fancy buffet restaurant “Eatogether” at Nei-Hu district. The cuisines were so amazing, gorgeous, and delicate. Not only hundreds of meals like sashimi, sushi, huitres, steak, and pan fried as well as snacks including Haagen-Dazs and cake, but numerous drinks such as wine and beer were continually served in time. As a word, “Not just in name only, but also in reality” This location was absolutely perfect as the paradise. After having a great dinner, we started the most exciting part of the feast, that namely the luck draw. Here is the game rule below. First, the one desire to win the present draw a picture lot to choose the partner, who has to pose the positions the toastmaster asked him or her to do. Then, another player must realize what the meaning concluded and respond the correct answer. If they lost, they would lose the gifts as well. Eventually, we definitely had a good time.

        In a word, it is wonderful to make merry while we can. With consequence, treasure our time and work out our lives from now on, and we will surely get a colorful livings.
